School Application Asks: C-Section or Vaginal Birth?

If you want your child to attend elementary school in California’s Dry Creek School District, you’ll have to get personal—really personal. The enrollment application asks some very detailed medical questions, but parents are in an uproar over one in particular: Was your child birthed through “vaginal delivery” or “C-section”? If it was a C-section, the application further asks for the reason behind the procedure.

“I really don’t feel think the school asking if the child was delivered vaginally or by C-Section is appropriate,” one mom tells CBS13, noting that she’s tried to get a response from the school for two weeks now with no luck. But apparently the school doesn’t follow up on the answers given, she says: “We had someone that we know write ‘purple.’ Nobody contacted them about it, because these questions aren’t actually relevant to enrolling the child.” (More cesarean section stories.)
