Anthony Weiner is lawyering up over his weekend Twitter brouhaha. The Democratic congressman says a hacker busted into his Twitter feed and posted a lewd pic of a man's crotch, trying to make it look like Weiner was sending it to a young woman. The congressman has dismissed it as a hoax but is considering legal action, reports Politico. "We are loath to treat it as more, but we are relying on professional advice," said a spokesman.

The flap set off a furious blogger fight between the left (Daily Kos, for example) and right (Big Government). The woman to whom it was addressed before being quickly deleted sides with Weiner, calling it a hoax and saying she is a fan but has never met him. A conservative blogger named Dan Wolfe has emerged as the main suspect, but he denies it, notes the Daily News. "I don't care. Either arrest me, press charges, etc. or shut up," he tweeted.
