Actress criticizes Hollywood birth scenes for being unrealistic

Childbirth as depicted in the movies may be "all really lovely," complete with flowers everywhere and "magically" made-up moms—but for actress Tilda Swinton, it's "a truly, truly murderous business." Never shy about being unconventional, Swinton says: "It’s violent. And if one doesn’t embrace that, if one can’t embrace it—and it’s really tough to do that—then you’re up a gum tree because it means you’re going to be cutting off a whole part of yourself.” Swinton, the mother of teenage twins, is currently in Cannes promoting her latest film, We Need to Talk About Kevin, notes the Telegraph.
