Godfather fanboys, rejoice: More of Vito’s tale is on the way, partly from the pen of Mario Puzo, on whose novels the movies were based. The new novel is an adaptation of a screenplay written by the late Puzo that never made it to the silver screen, the Huffington Post reports. The prequel, adapted by Virginia Tech professor Edward Falco, will reveal more about Vito’s ascendancy in New York City during the 1920s and '30s, notes the New York Times.
Falco has already written one book about the mafia, and he’s got another mob connection of sorts: he’s the uncle of the Sopranos’ Edie Falco. The new book, called The Family Corleone, is due in June 2012. (More The Godfather stories.)
