(AP Photo/Matt Dunham, File) British police have arrested News of the World senior reporter James Weatherup on the suspicion that he illegally hacked into voicemails in search of scoops. That makes him the third reporter from the tabloid recently arrested in the phone hacking scandal, the AP reports. Until recently, the News of the World had insisted that the hacking was the work of two rogue employees who were jailed in 2007. But two other journalists were arrested earlier this month, and last week the paper admitted the practice was more widespread, and offered to pay compensation.
