The mounting trove of bones discovered on an isolated strip of Long Island beach now has cops wondering if there could be more than one killer operating in the area. The body count is now up to 10, all women except for a single toddler. "Now the question is connectivity" among all the remains, a law enforcement source tells ABC News. The first victims discovered were prostitutes who had advertised on Craigslist, according to detectives. Their bodies were wrapped in burlap. The most recent remains were not wrapped.

To determine if the bodies are linked to one or more killers, investigators will carefully analyze murder and body disposal methods as well as DNA. All the remains were found in a several-mile stretch of state and federal beach and brush some 45 miles from Manhattan. A number of suspects are being investigated. The presumed killer in one of the prostitute murders called her sister using "taunting and angry words," said the teen. "It broke my heart," she said on Good Morning America. "If he's doing that many murders he's not going to stop. He obviously enjoys it and he's sick in the head." (More Long Island beach stories.)
