Newt Gingrich is still testing the waters for a 2012 White House run but he's already got a plan for his first day in the Oval Office. Gingrich—one of five GOP hopefuls who met voters in Iowa last night—issued a leaflet listing four executive orders that "whoever replaces President Obama" should sign straight away, Politico reports. President Gingrich would eliminate the dozens of "czar" positions created by the administration, keep taxpayer dollars away from organizations that fund abortions abroad, allow health care workers to opt out of procedures they object to, and move the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Gingrich—along with Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty, and Buddy Roemer—spoke to conservative voters at an event in Iowa labeled the start of the caucus season. “I think that we are at a crossroads that we cannot hide from," Gingrich told the crowd. All five hopefuls touched on social issues like abortion and gay marriage. At the end of the event, the crowd had the most praise for longshots Cain and Roemer. (More Newt Gingrich 2012 stories.)
