Polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs had three underage brides smuggled to him from over the Canadian border, according to new evidence. Records obtained from the FLDS by prosecutors reveal that the girls, two of them aged 12 and one 13, were taken from British Columbia to sect settlements along the Utah-Arizona border where they were "celestially married" to Jeffs in 2004 and 2005, the Salt Lake City Tribune reports.

The children's parents participated in the wedding ceremonies, according to the records. The documents were seized during a raid on the sect's ranch in Texas during Canadian efforts to prosecute polygamist leaders. "This girl was called on a mission; and she received it joyfully," states one of the documents. The girl "was sealed to Warren Steed Jeffs for time and all eternity." Jeffs is among five FLDS members awaiting trial on sex and bigamy charges (More Yearning for Zion ranch stories.)
