America's new top dog is Hickory, a 5-year-old Scottish deerhound more at home chasing rabbits and deer around the Virginia farm she calls home than being in the spotlight at Madison Square Garden. Hickory was awarded Best in Show at the 135th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, becoming the first Scottish deerhound to take the top prize, AP reports.

Hickory took the title from 4-year-old Scottish terrier Sadie. Italian judge Paolo Dondina picked her from a best-of-seven show ring that included a Pekingese, a Portuguese water dog, a Chinese shar-pei, a smooth fox terrier, a bearded collie, and a black cocker spaniel. "People who own, breed, show dogs dream of this day," her handler said. (More Scottish deerhound stories.)
