The Cleveland Cavaliers began this season last night the same way they closed out last spring: by losing handily to a team from Texas. This time it was Dirk Nowitzki's Dallas Mavericks who dominated the struggling Cavs early on and held LeBron James to just 10 points to win 92-74, reports the Dallas Morning News.
Jason Terry, not Nowitzki, was the breakout star of the night, picking up 24 points and four assists coming off the bench for Dallas. Nowitzki, who praised Terry for being "on fire," found just 15 points and eight rebounds. Zydrunas Ilgauskas topped out Cleveland's stats with 17 points and 18 rebounds, with Drew Gooden double-doubling as well with 12 and 10. (More NBA stories.)
