Cops Charge Ex in Co-Ed's Murder
Steven M Pieper, 21, of Clay, NY.   (Onondaga County Sheriff's Office)

Police in upstate New York yesterday charged the ex-boyfriend of a missing college student with her murder after finding a body dumped in a park, ending a massive weeklong search, reports the Syracuse Post-Standard. The body of 20-year-old Mercyhurst College dance student Jenni-Lyn Watson was “dumped like garbage" in a park in suburban Syracuse, according to the county DA. Steven Pieper, 21, was arraigned last night.

Authorities say that Pieper went to Watson's parents' house on November 19, while she was home for Thanksgiving and her family was away at work. Pieper “acknowledged that he went to the house to visit her,” says the DA. "We do not believe she left that house alive." Pieper was reportedly upset that Watson had broken off the relationship early last month.
