St. Louis was named the most dangerous city in the United States, edging out last year's top-ranked city, Camden, NJ, according to a new study released today. The crime rates were calculated using FBI statistics in six categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and motor vehicle theft. According to the study, published by CQ Press, St. Louis experienced 2,070.1 violent crimes per 100,000 residents in 2009. Rounding out the top five were Detroit and Flint, Mich., and Oakland, Calif.
