At last, another part of Brett Favre's anatomy is making headlines: The 41-year-old QB has a stress fracture in his left ankle that may sideline him come Sunday for the first time in 291 consecutive starts (315, counting playoff games). Favre was hit tossing the first of three interceptions yesterday in the Vikings' loss to Green Bay, and is now questionable to play New England. "He's got to be able to do all the things that his position does," the Vikings coach says. "You can't put a guy that's a sitting duck out there."
Not so fast: "Unless they cut his leg off, it's going to be hard to keep him off the field," a teammate tells the AP. "That's the type of guy he is." (More Brett Favre scandal stories.)
