A Brooklyn hair salon took on a bit of the OK Corral yesterday when a would-be robber walked in and demanded everyone's money—and was met by a pistol-packing off-duty cop getting her hair done. The pair traded fire at close range in what the New York Post terms a "spectacular shoot-out," and Officer Feris Jones, 50, wounded the crook, who fled with a few wallets in hand. "He messed with the wrong one tonight," says a witness. "The officer tried to protect the owner."
No one else was injured, and police are seeking the robber. "What she did was very heroic," a police source says. "She could have not done anything, but she was afraid for her and the other people's safety." (More robbery stories.)
