Celebrity / Katy Perry A Wacky Wedding for Katy, Russell The bride wore a sari, the groom was surrounded by camels By Kate Seamons, Newser Staff Posted Oct 24, 2010 3:52 PM CDT Copied In this photo taken Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, British actor-comedian Russell Brand, left, walks with his fiancee Katy Perry, face covered with a coat, after their arrival at the airport in Jaipur, India. (AP Photo) Katy Perry kissed a boy yesterday—and we're guessing she liked it. The sari-clad singer wed Russell Brand in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India. The details that are trickling in make the event sound predictably luxe ... and a little wacky: Some 21 camels, horses, and elephants formed "part of" Brand's wedding procession. The groom gave the bride a ruby that supposedly has "protective powers"—along with a tiger. Not to be outdone, she gave him a baby elephant. The ceremony featured a fortune-telling parrot, which guests say predicted a long life, long marriage, and—you guessed it—long careers for both Perry and Brand. But the oddest revelations may have come from Katy, who made a rambling 30-minute speech about reincarnation and her belief that she and Russell were together in a past life, reports the Daily Mail. PopEater notes that the six-day celebration didn't go perfectly smoothly: Brand's bodyguards allegedly beat up photographers, stole their keys, and left them in a park full of tigers.
