Atlanta police are crediting rapper T.I. with saving the life of suicidal man today. When the rapper heard a radio report about a man threatening to jump from a downtown building, he drove to the scene, talked to police, and made what TMZ describes as a "heartfelt video" that police played for the man on the roof. It worked.

"Nothing is that bad," said T.I. in the video. "Nothing in life is worth taking your life. I'm here to help you. Please come down to talk to me." The man met T.I. in the building's lobby before police took him to a hospital for treatment. He won't face charges, notes the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Says an Atlanta officer of T.I., who's not always in the good graces of police: “He didn’t have to stop. He could’ve kept on going about his business. We’re happy it ended the way it did, and we thank him." (Read more suicide threat stories.)
