Media | Jon Stewart NPR Bars Employees From Stewart-Colbert Rallies Memo sent to entire organization, not just reporters By Evann Gastaldo Posted Oct 14, 2010 12:44 PM CDT Copied In this Sept. 21, 2008 file photo, Stephen Colbert, left, and Jon Stewart make an award presentation at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. The organization sent a memo to employees yesterday reminding them that they “may not participate in marches and rallies involving causes or issues that NPR covers,” and specifically noted that the restriction applies to the upcoming Stewart/Colbert events, Poynter Online reports. Though the memo was initially sent to news staff, the CEO forwarded it to the entire organization and confirmed that it applies to other departments as well, the Huffington Post notes.
