Mark Zuckerberg and pals aren't happy about how they've been depicted in the Social Network, but they're missing the larger point, writes Fred Vogelstein. "Mark my words," he predicts in Wired. "It will do so much good for the company and Zuckerberg that a year from now they’ll be wondering about a sequel. " Hollywood has finally seen fit to make a movie about Silicon Valley, and it's not about Apple, Google, or Microsoft. It's about Facebook.
Sure, Zuckerberg's unhappy with how he comes off as a human. Tough. "If you start the most important company of the new millennium and are worth $7 billion at 26, no one is going to believe how down-to-earth you are, even if it’s true. " Might he have cribbed his big idea from others? "I don't know," writes Vogelstein. "What I do know is that it doesn’t matter. They didn’t build the company, Zuckerberg did, and in Silicon Valley, at least, that’s all that matters. "
