Susan Boyle lost her bid today to win Britain’s Got Talent, reports News of the World. The Scottish songbird, performing the same song from Les Miserables that brought her international fame, finished second behind a young dance troupe, which won about $161,000 and an audience with Queen Elizabeth. “Lads, I wish you all the best,” Boyle told them.

Simon Cowell praised Boyle, telling her, “Win or lose, you had the guts to come back here tonight, face your critics, and you beat them.” But the boys who beat her wowed the audience with high-flying stunts. Still, Boyle could earn an estimated $13 million from a singing career, and she’s already received a cameo offer from Ugly Betty.
