Jimmy Fallon will be following in some pretty big footsteps when he takes over Late Night on Monday, but he’s prepared. After all, he has the plastic pickle—a 3-foot-long specimen passed down from Conan, who got it from Letterman—plus an endless supply of advice from friends and even strangers. He's also got a world of pressure and critics whose opinions are already formed. "Right now, I feel like I'm nauseous," he confides to the New York Times.

But eager to get this thing started. “I know I could be the last guy," he says. "This could all end. TV might not be around. But I’m excited. I’m going to enjoy it, all the way. It’s another fun adventure." Given his SNL history and video blog, Fallon starts his job with much greater name recognition than Conan had. “Some people have already decided, ‘I like that guy,’ or ‘I hate that guy,'" says Fallon, who promises that the show will evolve. "We're going to find our style."
