Cops say an accused New York serial burglar was caught thanks to the GPS ankle monitor he took along with him to the scenes of the crimes. Per News 12, cops on Long Island have arrested Taiheem McKay for allegedly robbing 10 homes in the town of Riverhead over the course of several months. The Suffolk County DA says the arrest couldn't have happened without the help of the technology, Riverhead Local reports. “This indictment is the result of excellent investigative work by detectives in the Riverhead Police Department, who used technology and the sharing of intelligence to find the alleged perpetrator responsible for these burglaries,” read a press release Thursday.

Cops say McKay was on probation and required to wear the monitor prior to his alleged burglaries spanning from July of last year to this past February. McKay is accused of stealing jewelry and designer accessories, sometimes from the same home more than once. In fact, McKay is accused of targeting a single house in Riverhead on four separate occasions. McKay was arraigned on the 10 counts last week and ordered held on $500,000 bond.
