Next up, the "Hollywood Madame": Robert Mueller's team has told Kristin Davis that they want to sit down and talk, the Washington Post reports. Mueller's people are expected to question Davis—who's known for her pricey 2000s prostitution ring linked to the downfall of Elliot Spitzer—about her friendship with Trump confidant Roger Stone. "Roger's one of my best friends," Davis tells a reporter. "I have nothing bad to say about him." Davis adds that "in terms of Russian collusion I know nothing" and calls the special counsel's probe a "witch hunt." She is one of several Stone associates approached by Mueller, including former Trump campaign officials Michael Caputo and Sam Nunberg, and Stone driver John Kakanis.

"They seem to be going back with him and picking up people who worked for Roger, and some people who are disgruntled," says Davis. Stone has stepped into the Russia-hack spotlight for apparently communicating with Guccifer 2.0, a Twitter handle used by Russian intelligence officers accused of sending stolen Democratic-party emails to Wikileaks; he also admits to meeting with a Russian who sought $2 million for dirt on Hillary Clinton. So why contact (but not yet subpoena) Davis? Well, the two are close friends: Stone is godfather to her son and she once did clerical work for Stone, a source tells CNN. "She has been [an] associate of mine for over 10 years," Stone said Friday on Anderson Cooper 360. "She is someone I have great affection for." (More Robert Mueller stories.)
