It is ... spectacular? The opposite of spectacular? Too weird to be true? The "it" in question is a 25-foot bare-chested statue of Jeff Goldblum now gracing a field in front of London's Tower Bridge. As USA Today explains, the statue is a publicity stunt by the UK's Now TV to mark the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park. As fans of the movie surely know, the statue depicts Goldblum as his "suave, almost debonair" character Ian Malcolm, recuperating from an injury, notes Vulture.

The statue is proving to be a popular draw, though it will be up only until July 26. Today can't resist applying a famous line uttered by Goldlblum in the movie to the statue itself: "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should." One in the "they should" camp is Rob Bricken of Gizmodo, who finds "the idea of a divine, omnipotent and highly sexy Jeff Goldblum looking down on us all from afar weirdly comforting."
