When asked about Harvey Weinstein back in October, Uma Thurman responded: "I've been waiting to feel less angry, and when I'm ready, I'll say what I have to say." It appears that time has come. "Thurman was the lissome goddess in the creation myth of Harvey Weinstein and Quentin Tarantino," Maureen Dowd writes in the New York Times. And Thurman says she was attacked by both of them in different ways. Thurman—"as she vaped tobacco, sipped white wine, and fed empty pizza boxes into the fireplace"—tells Dowd she knew Weinstein "pretty well before he attacked me." She says the first attack came in Weinstein's London hotel room. "He pushed me down," Thurman says. "He tried to shove himself on me. He tried to expose himself. He did all kinds of unpleasant things. But he didn't actually put his back into it and force me."

Thurman says she got away that time but couldn't escape Weinstein. "He had a chokehold on the type of films and directors that were right for me," she says. Thurman says she tried to meet in the lobby the next time but Weinstein and his assistants worked together to get her back upstairs. Thurman doesn't reveal what happened at that meeting, only that she told Weinstein, "If you do what you did to me to other people you will lose your career, your reputation, and your family, I promise." Thurman says she feels bad "about all the women that were attacked after I was." "All these lambs walked into slaughter because they were convinced nobody rises to such a position who would do something illegal to you," she says. "But they do."
