Cops: Man Beat Up ATM That 'Gave Too Much Cash'
Michael Joseph Oleksik.   (Brevard County Sheriff's Office)

'Tis the season to be generous—but not if you're an ATM, and especially not if you're dealing with Michael Joseph Oleksik. Police in Florida say the 23-year-old Merritt Island man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief over an attack that caused at least $5,000 in damage to a machine that he thought was dispensing too much cash, Florida Today reports. Court records show that Oleksik called the Wells Fargo branch soon after the incident last month to apologize, telling the manager he'd been late for work and was "angry the ATM was giving him too much money and he did not know what to do." Surveillance video shows Oleksik hitting the machine's touch screen. After Wells Fargo decided to press charges, Oleksik was arrested Friday and released on $2,000 bail. (More Florida stories.)
