Cities in California have lowest rates of uninsured

Texas Cities Are Top in Uninsured Residents

Seven of the 10 US cities with the lowest rates of uninsured Americans are in California. On the flip side, eight of the 10 cities with the highest rates of uninsured residents are in Texas. That's according to WalletHub, which reviewed the overall insurance rates in 547 US cities in 2016. The top 10 in each category:

Highest:

  1. Brownsville, Texas
  2. Mission, Texas
  3. Laredo, Texas
  4. Pharr, Texas
  5. Pasadena, Texas
  6. Hialeah, Fla.
  7. McAllen, Texas
  8. Baytown, Texas
  9. Passaic, NJ
  10. Dallas, Texas
Lowest:
  1. Elk Grove, Calif.
  2. Folsom, Calif.
  3. Fremont, Calif.
  4. Ellicott City, Md.
  5. Redondo Beach, Calif.
  6. Newton, Mass.
  7. Union City, Calif.
  8. Newport Beach, Calif.
  9. O'Fallon, Mo.
  10. San Ramon, Calif.
