NBC's Timeless is not only still NBC's, but also appears to be peerless as well: The show managed to get picked up for a second season three days after NBC canceled it, reports Variety. Executive producer Eric Kripke tweeted on Saturday: "The #TimeTeam went back 3 days, and changed history. @nbc picked us up for 10 episodes. Seriously." Sony Pictures Television had lobbied hard for the time travel series after its cancellation, notes the Hollywood Reporter, and the ploy apparently worked. Season 2, which is set for spring or summer 2018, was reportedly pitched as more family friendly, and the show could move from a 10pm time slot to 8pm. (More TV cancellations stories.)
