More than two weeks after April the giraffe finally gave birth, her calf's name has been revealed. Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York, which live-streamed the final stages of April's pregnancy to millions of viewers who waited impatiently for the calf to be born, staged a contest to name him. The most votes went to the option of letting Allysa Swilley, the giraffe keeper who took care of April during her pregnancy, name the calf, and she chose Tajiri, which "is a word in Swahili that means hope," the park's owner told Good Morning America Monday. He added that the calf, nicknamed "Taj," is already more than 6 feet tall. (More giraffes stories.)
