If you spend a lot of time coloring in pictures of dandelions, now is the time to stock up on crayons: Dandelion Yellow is the color from the 24-box that will be retiring from all Crayola products, the company confirmed in a tweet Thursday. Crayola wasn't planning on revealing the color being cut until Friday, but it made the announcement early after a Twitter user posted a photo of a Crayola 120-crayon box at a Target store with the words "Dandelion is retiring" on the side, NPR reports. Crayola is still counting down to its National Crayon Day announcement Friday—and the company says it will reveal the "color family" of the new addition to the box of 24 at an event in Times Square, Consumerist reports.

"Dandelion was so excited to announce his retirement he snuck a few packages out of the factory and onto the shelves of a handful of his favorite retailers last night," a Crayola spokesman says. The company says the Dandelion color has been around for 27 years, and joined the 24-box 18 years ago. It joins numerous others in retirement, including Blizzard Blue, Magic Mint, Mulberry, and Teal Blue, which were dropped in 2003. Burnt Sienna got a reprieve that year after winning the "Save the Shade" contest held to celebrate the Crayola line's 100th anniversary. (More Crayola stories.)
