“It appears we’re going to have an old-folks’ home," New York Magazine quotes Sen. Harry Reid as saying about hypothetical Democratic 2020 presidential contenders. "We’ve got Warren; she’ll be 71. Biden will be 78. Bernie will be 79.” Regardless, the Hill has ranked the top 15 candidates (number 15, especially, might be a bit of a shock) it thinks will battle to replace Donald Trump in four years. Here are the top five:

  1. Sen. Elizabeth Warren: Warren is slated to join the Senate Armed Services Committee, potential evidence she's upping her resume for a 2020 run.
  2. Sen. Bernie Sanders: His age could be a hindrance.
  3. Sen. Cory Booker: Like Warren, may be trying to boost his resume by joining the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
  4. Sen. Amy Klobuchar: She could win over voters in the Rust Belt but may be too low-profile at this point.
  5. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: Has a number of similarities to Hillary Clinton, which could either work for or against her.
See the full list here. (A recent survey found Democrat voters aren't particularly excited about any of these possibilities.)
