Kathie Lee Gifford will rejoin morning TV on April 7, Variety reports, as a co-host of the fourth hour of NBC’s Today. Gifford, 54, will share duties with Hoda Kotb. Her kids grown, Gifford wrote on her website she's keen to return to the small screen "8 years older, 10 pounds heavier, a half-inch shorter, just in time for HD television."

Gifford, known for co-hosting Regis and Kathie Lee in 1989-2000, has spent the interim acting in and writing several musicals. Her children are now grown, and with husband Frank Gifford, a former professional football player, seemingly intent on reliving the glory days, Kathie Lee thought a return to TV would "old highlight films in black and white" to a minimum.
