Kylie Jenner says her big, pouty lips are 100% natural, but the #KylieJennerChallenge most certainly is not, Time reports. Teens have apparently started placing their lips inside a small container—think a shot glass—and then sucking really hard, which causes lips to briefly swell up. They then photograph the results and post them on social media with the aforementioned hashtag. But pulling such a move on your lips can actually cause them to bruise or tear—and repeated attempts could result in "permanent disfigurement," a dermatologic surgeon tells Seventeen.

As the Metro reports, two sisters from Iceland who tried the challenge last month ended up cautioning others against it. "My lips turned blue," one said. A cosmetic surgeon explained that's because "blood fills up and [lips] could easily become infected and lose all sensation," calling the trend "really dangerous." PopSugar notes that shot glasses can also shatter due to the pressure, causing injuries. "If you're looking to try this big-lip trend, I recommend doing so by overlining your mouth with lipliner," writes Emily Orofino. "That's what Kylie claims she does." (But apparently some experts think Kylie has had work done.)
