Son-in-Law Arrested in Tennessee Bombing

When a bomb killed a retired lawyer and his wife in their rural Tennessee home, neighbors speculated that they must have been mistaken targets. After all, who would go after Jon and Marion Setzer, both in their 70s? Now authorities say their son-in-law would, reports the Tennessean. Police in Lebanon arrested 49-year-old Richard Parker today and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder. They say he planted the package bomb at their house, reports CNN.

"Right now we feel like we have the person responsible for committing this crime in custody," says the director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Authorities say Parker lived behind his in-laws but haven't speculated about a motive. Nor have they shed light on the contents of a note reportedly found amid the debris. Jon Setzer died Monday when the bomb exploded, and his wife died from her injuries yesterday. (More Tennessee stories.)
