Chicken and waffles, a comfort food favorite, is coming to ... Burger King? Yes, the fast food restaurant is testing out a chicken and waffle sandwich at select East Coast locations. How's it going? Foodbeast says it "looks like struggle," a sandwich that is essentially "a soggy breaded chicken patty in-between two equally soggy waffles." A promising note? The Foodbeast reader who first drew attention to the sandwich he tried in Pennsylvania wrote on Instragram, "It's not as bad as it looks." Ah, but it seems to go downhill from there.

"It was OK, I guess," he elaborates to Bloomberg Businessweek. "The chicken patty tasted the same to me as the one on the value menu, but the waffle was decent. It had a sweet taste to it. ... Would I get it again? Probably not." So no rave reviews to start off, but Burger King is hardly the first fast food joint to get creative with waffles: Taco Bell tried out a waffle taco last year. "At this time, the chicken and waffle sandwich is something we are testing regionally but have not solidified plans beyond the test," BK's chief marketing officer says. (More fast food stories.)
