Reagan Hologram Skips Convention

Despite conflicting reports, there really were plans for a Ronald Reagan hologram to wow Republican National Convention attendees Tupac-style, according to Yahoo News. The holo-Reagan was to have appeared outside the convention hall to give a speech supporting the JOBS act—but Republican leaders decided that the hologram might upstage Mitt Romney, says Tony Reynolds, founder of the crowdsourcing website A KickIn Crowd.

"At the time, he hadn't chosen Paul Ryan, so I think they were a little worried about his energy," says Reynolds, who obtained the rights to a Reagan speech on small businesses, and has been working with one of the companies behind the Tupac hologram. "Even in a hologram form, I think Reagan's going to beat a lot of people in terms of communicating." The Reagan hologram will make its debut later this year or early next year, he says.
