Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was hospitalized Tuesday after an apparent suicide attempt, the Sun reports. The troubled actor, whom the tabloid characterizes as a "hellraiser," is believed to have taken pills. Paramedics found him slumped on the ground after answering an emergency call, but he refused treatment for more than half an hour and police had to be called. Rhys Meyers, 33, has been struggling with an alcohol problem and an obviously British source says "it was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life." He was discharged yesterday.
