The Taliban waged a propaganda attack today by warning of a spring offensive in Afghanistan. The statement from the group's leadership promised to ramp up attacks on "foreign invaders," members of the Karzai government, and anyone conducting business with NATO troops, reports the Los Angeles Times. Apparently cognizant of growing resentment against civilian casualties, the Taliban warned Afghans to be wary.

"All Afghan people should bear in mind to keep away from gatherings, convoys and centers of the enemy so that they will not become harmed during attacks of mujahedin against the enemy," said the statement. (More Taliban stories.)
